Your privacy is important to DownStream Technologies, LLC (DownStream). The following Privacy Policy discloses the information practices for the DownStream website, including the type of information gathered, how the information is used, and our policy regarding sharing information with others. In this Privacy Policy, we also discuss the collection, storage, and transfer of certain customer Personal Information that we collect offline.

DownStream collects Personal Information and Anonymous Information from you when you visit the Site. We collect Personal Information from you in the following instances:

  • If you register for a seminar, webinar, or event, we will collect your contact information, your place of employment, and your job title.
  • To receive DataFlows, you must provide your name, contact information, place of employment, and other information regarding your company.
  • If you would like to receive information from us you must provide your name, contact information, and a description of your comment or question.
  • If you e-mail us directly via an e-mail hyperlink to provide us feedback or to ask us a question regarding the Site or our business, we will collect any information contained in such e-mail.
  • If you download software from the Site, we will collect your contact information, place of employment, job title,  job function, and intended use of the software.

Personal Information Collected Automatically

As you navigate the Site, certain information may be collected automatically. Specifically, we may use cookies and other automated devices to collect information about you, including your IP address, browser type and operating system, time and length of visit, search terms used, and information viewed and/or downloaded on our Site. This data helps us to improve the content of the Site and to customize the content or layout of the Site for you. Your Personal Information will generally not be shared, sold, traded, or rented to individuals or other entities (such as direct mail organizations). However, we may need to provide your Personal Information to third parties to charge your credit card or deliver specific services to you (such as support services or shipping). These third parties are required not to use your Personal Information other than to provide the services requested by DownStream. 

We may disclose your Personal Information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants served on DownStream; or (b) protect and defend the rights or property of DownStream or users of the Site.

We safeguard the Personal Information you send to us with certain physical, electronic, and managerial procedures. In most areas of the Site, we use industry-standard-encryption to enhance the security of data transmissions. In other areas, we notify you with a pop-up screen when we transfer or receive certain types of sensitive information. We also store your Personal Information behind our firewall and utilize appropriate security measures in our physical facilities to prevent loss or unauthorized use of sensitive information. Except as provided elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, DownStream limits access to Personal Information in electronic databases to those persons (including employees and contractors) in DownStream's organization who have a business need for such access. 

While we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot ensure the security of the information you transmit to us, and so we urge you to take every precaution to protect your Personal Information when you are on the Internet.

You have the right to access and correct certain information that DownStream holds about you. Any access request may be subject to a fee, where permitted and in accordance with law, to meet our costs in providing you with the details of the information that we hold about you.
